Maintenance Worker

The Tecumseh Center for the Arts is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to provide professional cleaning services and perform detailed upkeep of the facility.
This worker is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the TCA.

Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the employee is responsible for the detailed cleaning and upkeep of the facility space at Tecumseh Center for the Arts.
Independently performs related work as assigned and oversees any staff, Community Service Workers, and/or volunteers contributing to the completion of tasks.

Work under the general supervision of the TCA Executive Director and Technical Director.
Perform detailed cleaning of the Tecumseh Center for the Arts.
Duties include but are not limited to:
cleaning and sanitizing doors and windows; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing floors; scrubbing, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities; cleaning restroom mirrors and glass; dusting furniture, walls, and equipment; deep cleaning; and collecting trash to ensure the building's occupants have a clean space.
Areas of attention include but are not limited to:
the vestibule; lobby; lobby restrooms; offices; concessions area; auditorium; stage; dressing rooms; dressing room restrooms; green room; green room restroom; scene shop.
Flexes schedule as needed to ensure the facility is clean before and after each Assists Executive and Technical Directors in the scheduling of support staff and/or Monitors inventory of cleaning products and restroom supplies.
Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements include:
A high school diploma, GED Experience in cleaning commercial spaces Skill in running cleaning equipment and small tools Self-motivated worker with a focused attention to detail Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships Experience in overseeing staff and volunteers Ability to communicate ideas and concepts effectively with staff and volunteers Ability to maintain a disciplined work environment Ability to critically assess situations, problem-solve, and work effectively under stress, within deadlines and changes in work priorities Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other potentially dangerous situations.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to very loud.
Compensation The TCA Maintenance Worker is paid $15 per hour based on experience, skill set and ability to perform their duties.
The TCA Maintenance Worker position is a part-time time position as defined by the City of Tecumseh in the employee handbook and is limited to work a maximum of 25 hours per week (Sunday - Saturday) and scheduled 52 weeks of the year.
